Workgroups and Committees
The day-to-day work of the coalition is guided by the Coordinating Council and six workgroups and committees:
The Coordinating Council
The Coordinating Council is CTC’s governing body. It meets monthly and has a membership that cuts across many sectors.
The Regional Policy and Norms Workgroup
The Policy and Practice Change Workgroup aims to create policy-level change for substance abuse prevention.
The Parent and Family Engagement Workgroup
The goal of the Parent Education Workgroup is to provide skill building, educational opportunities and social marketing to support parents and guardians in raising healthy drug-free children. The PEER Ambassador Program is part of this workgroup.
Regional School Health Task Force
The Regional School Health Task Force is responsible for the annual survey of students in area school districts, and serves as a forum for networking among schools about prevention programming.
Community Supports for Young People Workgroup
The Community Supports for Young People (CSYP) Workgroup brings people together – including young people themselves! – for collective engagement around health equity and the overall wellbeing of young people of all ages (0-24) in our community.
Racial Justice Workgroup
The Racial Justice Workgroup brings together coalition and community members with a common interest in racial justice and youth health and health equity. The group is committed to having its membership remain a majority people of color.
